Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Toolessence ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Toolessence website and its content.

Information We May Collect

Toolessence is primarily an editorial and comparison site. We do not require an account to browse our content. We may collect limited information in the following cases:

  • Information you voluntarily submit through our Stack Audit request form or other contact features.
  • Standard technical data your browser sends automatically, such as IP address, user agent, and referrer.
  • Aggregate, non-identifying search performance data via Google Search Console.

Stack Audit Requests

Stack Audit requests are submitted via a mailto link that opens your own email client. The email is sent to info@toolessence.com. We do not store the request on our servers or in a backend database.

You may choose to include:

  • Your name and email address.
  • Project details and what you are trying to build or improve.
  • Your current tools.
  • Your monthly software budget range.
  • Your technical comfort level.
  • Your biggest tooling bottleneck.
  • Your desired outcome in the next 30 days.

We use this information only to review your request and reply by email with a stack recommendation or follow-up. We do not sign you up to any newsletter automatically, and we do not sell your personal data.

Analytics

Toolessence does not currently use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta/Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, or similar behavioural analytics, session recording, or remarketing tools. Lovable platform analytics has been disabled.

We may use Google Search Console to understand aggregate search performance (for example, which queries lead visitors to our site in aggregate). This data does not identify individual visitors.

Affiliate Links and Third-Party Websites

Some links on Toolessence are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and take a qualifying action on a third-party site, we may receive a commission. The third-party provider, not Toolessence, sets and handles any tracking required for that referral. Affiliate links may redirect you to partner platforms that operate under their own privacy policies.

Toolessence also links to third-party software vendors, review sources, and infrastructure providers (such as hosting and CDN services). These third parties have their own privacy practices and we encourage you to review them.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain uses. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

Data Retention

We retain Stack Audit requests and other voluntarily submitted information only for as long as needed to respond to and follow up on your request, typically up to 12 months, or as required by applicable law. After that period, we delete or securely anonymise the information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
